2 S. Koreans among dead in Lisbon funicular crash: reports

SEOUL, Sept. 5 (Yonhap) -- Two South Korean nationals were among the victims of a funicular crash in Lisbon, Portugal, according to foreign media reports Friday.

According to the reports, including AP and AFP, Portuguese authorities identified eight victims so far: five Portuguese nationals, two South Koreans and one Swiss. The identification process for another eight people remains ongoing.

South Korea's foreign ministry had previously confirmed one Korean national was injured in the deadly funicular tram derailment.

At least 16 people were killed, and more than 20 others were injured, according to Portuguese authorities.
