N. Korean crossed land border Thursday night: S. Korean military

SEOUL, July 4 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's military said Friday it has taken into custody a North Korean individual who crossed the inter-Korean land border the previous day.

The individual crossed the Military Demarcation Line in the western part of the central front of the border Thursday night, according to the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Relevant authorities plan to conduct a joint investigation into the individual, it said, noting it has yet to detect any unusual North Korean military activity.
