SEOUL, Jan. 2 (Yonhap) -- North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has visited the family mausoleum for his late father and grandfather on New Year's Day, accompanied by his daughter Ju-ae for the first time, according to photos released by the North's state media Friday.

Kim made the visit to the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun on Thursday. The visit was also accompanied by his wife as well as key party and government officials.

"All the visitors made a firm pledge to fulfill their responsibility and duty in the vanguard of accomplishing the sacred cause for the eternal prosperity and development of the great DPRK and the promotion of the people's well-being, true to the ideas and leadership of Kim Jong Un with single-minded loyalty," the North's Korean Central News Agency reported, using the acronym of North Korea's official name, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
