Moon-Biden summit raises cautious hope on North Korea front

With South Korean President Moon Jae-in’s five-day trip to the U.S. now behind us, we can properly assess the impact it’s likely to have had – particularly where North Korea’s concerned. There have been a lot of questions over President Joe Biden’s direction on North Korea, but we know Moon wants to leave behind a legacy of peace, and he only has less than a year left in office to achieve it. He will have been buoyed then by his White House summit with Biden. They both vowed to seek talks with North Korea, which is particularly important because Pyongyang would be emboldened by any daylight between Seoul and Washington.
