SEOUL, Sept. 15 (Yonhap) -- The producers of "Moo No Plan 4," a variety show airing on MBN and Channel S, have categorically denied allegations that restaurants featured on the program were prearranged or that situations were staged.

In a statement posted on the program's official social media account Sunday, the producers said, "Some reports have suggested, based on online comments and unverified eyewitness accounts, that restaurants are contacted in advance or situations are staged, but this is not true."

They added, "Before filming at a restaurant, the production team does not contact the restaurant in advance to discuss filming or inform it beforehand that the cast will be visiting," stressing that this has been a production principle followed since the program began.

The producers also said they regretted that some recent reports had portrayed allegations of manipulation or staging as though they had been confirmed without verifying the facts, adding that they would actively correct the record if necessary when unverified claims are reported and reproduced as fact.

"Moo No Plan," which premiered in February 2024, follows broadcaster Jeon Hyun-moo and KwakTube (Kwak Jun-bin) on spontaneous food trips without plans or advance restaurant arrangements. Since its second season, the program has been jointly produced and simultaneously aired by MBN and Channel S.

The allegations surfaced after producers of the MBC variety show "I Live Alone" apologized over controversy surrounding Jeon Hyun-moo's allegedly staged spontaneous trip to Kazakhstan. Unverified eyewitness accounts subsequently spread online suggesting that "Moo No Plan" had also been manipulated.
