SEOUL, Oct. 19 (Yonhap) -- Jeonghan X Joshua, a new unit of K-pop boy group SEVENTEEN, released its first mini album, "DREAMSCAPE," at 6 p.m. Monday, the group's agency, Pledis Entertainment, said.

Joshua said through the agency that "DREAMSCAPE" tells a story in which dreams experienced during sleep meet dreams that one wishes to achieve in reality, adding that the album features elements in which fantasy and reality seem to intertwine throughout.

The album marks Jeonghan's first release since he was discharged from his mandatory military service in June and Joshua's first unit activity since his debut.

The title track, "12 o'clock," is a dance-rock song depicting Jeonghan and Joshua pursuing the objects of their dreams as they move between noon and midnight.

The song combines a modern reinterpretation of disco and funk sounds from the 1970s and 1980s with the two members' languid, mature vocals.

"We prepared the album hoping that the seven tracks would feel like a single story," Jeonghan said. "If you interpret what each song means in your own way and look for the hidden metaphors one by one, you'll be able to enjoy the album more fully."

He added, "Since this is an album I'm releasing after a long time, I thought a lot about what new things I could show CARATs," referring to SEVENTEEN's official fandom. "I'm a little nervous because this is my first album promotion since returning, but I can't wait to meet the fans."
