SEOUL, Oct. 12 (Yonhap) — Virtual idol group PLAVE will release its fifth mini-album, "HYPERDRIVE," at 6 p.m. Monday, its agency, said.
The release comes six months after the group put out its fourth mini-album, "Caligo Pt.2," in April, according to VAST Entertainment.
The album includes the title track "Star Trace," as well as "Ggun," a dreamy, languid song featuring a soft bossa nova rhythm; "Rain in the Blue Sky," a rock track combining acoustic guitar and understated vocals; "The Answer Is Yes," a bright and upbeat pop track; and "Rewind," an R&B pop song with a refreshing yet romantic melody.
"Star Trace" is the group's first dance-pop track based on EDM, or electronic dance music. Layered synthesizer sounds and heavy beats create a sense of vast space.
Through lyrics about cosmic love and trust, the members express the connection between PLAVE and its fans.
The agency described "HYPERDRIVE" as an album that showcases a wide range of genres, from EDM-based dance pop to bossa nova, rock, pop and R&B pop, all reinterpreted in PLAVE's own style.
"The group will signal the beginning of a new musical chapter through this comeback," the agency said.
