SEOUL, Sept. 22 (Yonhap) -- Seongdong-gu District in eastern Seoul will host "2026 Creative X Seongsu," a festival showcasing the neighborhood's creative industries and cultural content, across Seongsu-dong from Oct. 5-11, the district office said Tuesday.

The festival, first launched in 2023, has grown in scale and established itself as a signature Seongsu event, attracting about 230,000 visitors last year, according to the district.

Under this year's theme of "CREATIVE METAMORPHOSIS," diverse programs spanning 13 fields will be held, turning the entire Seongsu-dong area into a theme park.

The "Summit," featuring lectures and investment attraction programs, and a themed exhibition will be held for four days from Oct. 8-11 at S Factory, a cultural complex.

"Play Seongsu," an urban escape-room game that drew about 11,000 participants last year, will return with a new storyline titled "Color Adventure." During the festival, participants will use the Seongsu-dong area as a game board, visiting landmarks and completing missions through an app and website.

"Seongsu Art Fair" will feature an exhibition of young artists, with 75 artists taking part.

On Oct. 10, part of Seongsui-ro will be transformed into a runway and performance venue. "Fashion Seongsu" will feature a fashion show involving high school student designers and models, while "Music Seongsu" will offer a variety of outdoor performances through Oct. 11.

A food event, "Tasty Seongsu," will also be held. Popular restaurants in Seongsu-dong will offer free food and drinks and discounts, while a retro chicken-and-beer party featuring the game "Battlegrounds" will take place at PUBG Seongsu near Seoul Forest.

Other programs include the beauty pop-up "Beauty Seongsu," "Webtoon Seongsu," "Tour Seongsu," "Seongsu Made," featuring a craft market and hands-on activities, and "Film Seongsu," which will screen movies.

Super Junior member Leeteuk has been appointed as an ambassador for the festival.

"Creative X Seongsu is a festival where businesses, creators, spaces and citizens gathered in Seongsu connect with one another and create new possibilities," district chief Yoo Bo-hwa said. "I hope it will offer a special experience of discovering the creative energy and new charms of Seongsu-dong."
