SEOUL, Oct. 16 (Yonhap) -- Eric Nam released his fourth studio album, "Confessions of a Lonely Heart," on Friday, his agency All My Ent. Dots said.
In the album, Eric Nam captures the flow of emotions he has personally experienced, including love and loneliness.
The album traces a journey from obsession, regret and self-blame toward acceptance and hope, while expressing through understated music the loneliness and contradictions of modern people who want to be loved yet fear keeping someone close.
His agency said Eric Nam "personally participated in songwriting and other aspects of the album's production, showcasing his musical identity as a singer-songwriter."
The nine-track album includes the title track "Psycho," as well as "Sober Up," which portrays longing under the influence and the solitude that awaits after sobering up; "How The Fire Started," which tells a story of betrayal; and "Someday," which sings of love and hope once again.
"Psycho" captures the seductive emotions that arise as an intense attraction develops into obsession, with even moments of losing control feeling like part of love. The song is characterized by provocative lyrics asking, "If you're not crazy, is it really love?", rising energy and an ear-catching chorus.
Eric Nam has been active globally, finishing third in Season 4 of the U.S. survival show "The Traitors," appearing as a special guest on Season 21 of "America's Got Talent" and performing at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMA).
