A South Korean honor guard carries the portrait of late French Korean War veteran Serge Archambeau and a box containing his ashes at Incheon airport, west of Seoul, on Oct. 27, 2026, before he is laid to rest at the U.N. Memorial Cemetery in the southeastern port city of Busan on Oct. 31. Archambeau had expressed his wish to be buried on South Korean soil before his death. Soldiers from France and 15 other nations fought for South Korea against the invading North Korea under the U.N. flag during the 1950-53 conflict. (Yonhap)
