SEOUL, Nov. 6 (Yonhap) -- Jennie of K-pop girl group BLACKPINK will release "Someone to Hold," a song from the original soundtrack of Netflix's animated film "Steps," at 2 p.m. Friday, her agency OA Entertainment said.
This marks Jennie's first participation in the soundtrack of an animated film.
"It was such a joy to work on a song for an animated film for the first time," Jennie said. "I loved the warm hearts and distinct personalities of the characters, and I was happy to be part of their world, even in a small way."
Set for release Nov. 20, "Steps" tells the story of Lilith, one of Cinderella's stepsisters, who steals a fairy godmother's magic wand, setting off a series of events.
"Someone to Hold" is a ballad featured in the film's emotional climax and captures the strong bond between the sisters.
Before its official release, the song was nominated in the Song - Animated Film category at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards, which recognizes music in film, television and other visual media.
