SEOUL, Jan. 24 (Yonhap) – South Korean mega-hit girl group BLACKPINK added another MV to their list of videos with more than 100 million YouTube views with “Shut Down” exceeding 100 million views, according to the group’s agency YG Entertainment Monday.

This music video of the title track of the group’s 2nd studio album “BORN PINK,” which was released on Sept. 19, 2022, hit the 100 million mark as of 9:18 a.m. Monday, on the 126th day of its release.

The video became BLACKPINK’s 39th album to have surpassed 100 million YouTube views.

The song is a sampling of Paganini's “La Campanella” and combines classical and hip-hop; BLACKPINK’s trendy hip-hop beats maximize the dark and mysterious aura the original piece embodies. Shortly after its release, the song garnered international attention and love, ranking No.25 on the Billboard “Hot 100.”

BLACKPINK will be on stage as a headliner (signboard performer) at the upcoming “Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival” in the U.S. in April and the “British Summer Time Hyde Park 2023” in July.
