SEOUL, July 9 (Yonhap) -- Congolese entertainer Yiombi Jonathan, majoring in Political Science and Diplomacy who is also known for his nickname “Prince of Congo” was recently commissioned as a honorary ambassador of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, announced Hankuk University of Foreign Studies on Thursday.

The Hankuk University of Foreign Studies held a ceremony at the smart library on campus to appoint Yiombi Jonathan as honorary ambassador of 2022.

Throughout the ceremony Jonathan humorously asked “Previous ambassadors were not only very tall but also very handsome, so that means I can safely assume I fit in to both of those categories, right?”

Moreover, “I am very happy and honored.” adding “I will work diligently as the school ambassador.” announced Jonathan during the ceremony.

During the ceremony, president of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Park Jeong-woon described Jonathan as “He is always very bright, and the way he brings joy and laughter to public is an example of a good ambassador.” adding “I think the positive image of our school will be able to create a good synergy with Jonathan.”

Jonathan is a refugee from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and has recently become popular for his appearances on TV and his YouTube videos.
