SEOUL, December 19 (Yonhap) -- "Love Wind, Love Song" (1998), "Mermaid" (2004), "Jiseul" (2012), "Canola" (2016), "Our Blues" (2022)...
 

Jeju, with its beautiful scenery and unique culture, has long been the stage for many movies and dramas and has met with the audience.


Producers and actors continue to visit the "Jeju Indoor Video Studio," a studio specialized in film and drama production.


Drama "Island," starring Kim Nam-gil, will be filmed at Jeju Indoor Video Studio and will be released on the online video streaming platform (OTT) "Tving" and "Amazon Prime" on December 30, according to Jeju Island on Monday.  


All 12 episodes of drama "Island" has been filmed in Jeju island. 


Director Bae Jong, who produced "Welcome to Dongmakgol," and more, took the megaphone, and it will star Kim Nam-gil, Lee Da-hee, Cha Eun-woo, Sung-joon, Ko Doo-sim, Park Geun-hyung, and Oh Kwang-rok.

 

The total production cost more than 20 billion won.

 

Moreover, the filming of the movie "Tyrant" directed by Park Hoon-jung, starring Cha Seung-won as a main character began in December and it will continue for about four month at the Jeju Indoor Video Studio. 

 

Jeju Indoor Video Studio, Jeju's first studio specializing in production, opened on December 10 last year in Jeoji Artists Village, Hankyung-myeon, Jeju-si.

 

It is equipped with facilities that can produce various video contents such as movies, dramas, and advertisements indoors.Special photographs using chroma keys are also available.

 

There are two indoor filming sites of 1,372㎡ and 834㎡ in the studio, an outdoor filming site, a dressing room, and a conference room.

 

Oh Seong-yul, director of the Jeju Culture, Sports and Foreign Cooperation Bureau, said, "The revitalization of the Jeju Indoor Video Studio promotes Jeju's positive image and helps revitalize the local economy as the staff stay in Jeju during the production."
