SEOUL, April 20 (Yonhap) -- The Korean Cultural Center in Argentina announced on Tuesday that Claudia Villafañe, the former wife of the late Argentine football star Diego Maradona, will act as a "Korean food" ambassador.
Villafañe won the K-Food Master at the 7th Buenos Aires Korean Food Festival hosted by the Korean Cultural center on the 18th (KST), and was appointed ambassador as the privilege of winning.
Claudia Villafañe will also serve as a member of the Korea Ambassador Culture Friendship Association where other local cultural and artistic figures are present.
In the contest, Claudia Villafañe carried out a mission to make mung bean pancakes called Bindae-tteok with kimchi, and won first place with the support of 66.13% of netizens.
Villafañe, who is planning to promote Korean food in Argentina this year, said, "I'm happy to have discovered a new taste of Korean food."
She also won the cooking contest program "Master Chef Celebrity Argentina" earlier this year.
Meanwhile, the theme of this year's Korean Food Festival was "Kimchi" and it drew a lot of attention from the media and netizens, where local celebrities participated despite the growing issues of the corona virus, explained the Korean Cultural Center.
