SEOUL,
Nov. 24 (Yonhap) --
The show, a trot survival format that began airing in 2023, has contestants compete for seven spots on a national team that will represent South Korea in the “Korea-Japan Trot King Battle.”
Unlike seasons one and two, which selected separate top seven male and female trot singers, the new season will feature female singers from various genres beyond trot. Participants include musical theater performers, first-generation idol singers, popera artists and former SM Entertainment artists, who will engage in a music showdown.
The seven singers chosen in season three will represent Korea in next year’s “Korea-Japan Trot King Battle 3,” going head-to-head with Japanese representatives.
