SEOUL, June 14 (Yonhap) -- The Busan Museum of Art announced that "Father's Dream in the Notebook: Lee Sang-min Donation Exhibition" will be held from the 14th till the 16th of October in the art room on the second floor of the museum.

Among the 102 relics donated by Lee Sang-min (52), 4 relics of high historical value and which are done with its preservation process will be on display.

These relics were collected by Lee's father, the late Lee Seung-woo, in Busan, Daegu, and Japan for over 50 years while conducting a private business in Daegu since the 1950s.

The deceased had a dream of donating relics to a museum or owning a museum. He meticulously recorded the date, place, and description of the collection of relics in his notebook, and had put a lot of effort into it including attaching photos, but his dream could not be fulfilled and passed away in 2007.

In response, Lee, who runs a dental clinic in Busan, donated all of the relics except the Buddhist painting in 2019 and 2021 to the Busan Museum in support of his father.

It is known that the Buddhist painting was donated to the Beomeosa Seongbo Museum in Busan.

The relics on display this time are the taejiseok (memorial stones buried in Taesil) of Prince Uichang, the prince of King Sejong the Great, a Buncheong Lid with lotus leaf pattern, Horyeopdo (eight-panel folding screen depicting a hunting scene), and Kim Gyu-jin's Pil Wolmaedo.

Among them, the taejiseok of Prince Uichang and a Buncheong Lid with lotus leaf pattern are relics that can be only found in the Taesil of King Sejong the Great at Seonseoksan Mountain in Seongju, North Gyeongsang Province.

Taesil (胎室) is the place where the placentas (Tae 胎) of the royal family were buried for good energy.
