SEOUL, June 25 (Yonhap) -- The National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage announced on Saturday that they will preserve 368 of the recovered relics from the demilitarized zone at Cheorwon in Gangwon province, which belong to the soldiers who have lost their lives throughout the Korean War

There are various types of relics such as guns, helmets, water bottles, belts, spoons, buttons, and more. Most of them were discovered during the excavation of the remains of Baekma Ridge, and some of them were discovered near Cheorwon’s Arrowhead Ridge.

The National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage plans to investigate, clean and enhance the state of the relics received from the excavation team by the end of 2022.

The National Cultural Properties Research Institute has supported the preservation process of the relics from those who have lost their lives during the Korean War. So far, they have managed to preserve 962 items including guns, dog tags, boots, and more excavated from the Arrowhead Ridge.
