SEOUL,
Nov. 18 (Yonhap) --
SBS said on Tuesday that its new Friday-Saturday drama "Doctor X: The Age of the White Mafia" starring Kim Ji-won is set to air next year.
The medical noir drama follows Gye Su-jeong (played by Kim), a brilliant surgeon dispatched to fill the staffing gap in the surgical department at Guseo University Hospital. She takes on entrenched corruption within the medical power structure.
Veteran actors have also joined the cast. Lee Jung-eun will play Jang Hee-sook, the money-driven head of a “doctor dispatch agency,” while Son Hyun-joo takes the role of Boo Seung-gwon, director of a branch hospital under Guseo University Hospital.
Kim Woo-seok will portray Park Tae-kyung, a privileged “gold-spoon” intern whose life at the hospital becomes thoroughly entangled after he meets Su-jeong.
