Disney+ to release first original period drama 'The murky stream' next month, invited to Busan film festival

SEOUL, Aug. 11 (Yonhap) -- Global online streaming service Disney+ will release its first original period drama series next month.

Disney+ said on Monday that it will exclusively release "The Murky Stream" next month.

The action period drama is directed by Choo Chang-min of "Masquerade" and written by Chun Sung-il of "The slave hunters."

Starring Rowoon, Shin Ye-eun, Park Seo-ham and Park Ji-hwan, the series depicts the lives of ordinary people in the past who longed to live with dignity.

"The Murky Stream" has also been officially invited to the On Screen section of the 30th Busan International Film Festival. Ahead of its online release, it will premiere in Busan on Oct. 17.
