SEOUL, Jan. 3 (Yonhap) -- Studio The Grimm Entertainment established by webcomic artist Park Tae-joon, also the artist of hit webtoon "Lookism," announced on Tuesday that it has attracted investment of around 14 billion won.

Korea Investment partners, Naver Webtoon, the trust guarantee funds, Innopolis, etc. participated in the investment.

The Grimm Entertainment is a webtoon studio built in 2017 by artist Park and is well known as "Park Tae joon's Cartoon Company."

At this studio, popular webtoons such as "Lookism," Friday No.1 webtoon on Naver Webtoon, Sunday No.1 "How to Fight," and Tuesday No.1 "Manager Kim are currently at work.

With the investment, the company plans to use the Intellectual properties (IP) of the webtoons they own to expand them to other various second creative works such as animation, movie, and drama and to collaborate with famous artists.

They will also support educational program for amateur writers and train writers.

Park said, "We plan to scale up the base of webtoon by discovering competent artists and creative works and enlarge the webtoon market by utilizing our IPs in various ways."
