SEOUL, July 21 (Yonhap) --The National Museum of Korea and Hongik University will be jointly holding the "Museum and Beyond Metaverse" forum on July 22.

Metaverse refers to a three-dimensional virtual world in which avatars conduct daily activities including manufacturing and social life.

The National Museum of Korea launched "Peaceful Hill" in the metaverse platform "ZEPETO" last year with two representative collections of the National Museum of Korea, Pensive Bodhisattvas, and more than 10.2 million people have visited so far.

The forum will examine the latest technological trends and current issues related to the metaverse, and discuss how it could be utilized in a museum that is a repository of cultural heritage and a source of new creations.
