iKON's Bobby becomes father of son

SEOUL, Sept. 27 (Yonhap) -- Bobby, a member of South Korean boy group iKON, became the father of a son Monday following a surprise announcement last month.

"Bobby recently had a son born," according to iKON's agency, YG Entertainment.

The news came about one month after Bobby, whose legal name is Kim Ji-won, made a surprise marriage announcement through a handwritten letter. The singer said at that time that his fiancée was pregnant, announcing that he would marry the woman he loved.

In the letter, Bobby also apologized to his fans, saying, "I'm happy to have a new family, but I feel more sorry for the fans who were surprised by my sudden news."
