SEOUL, Aug. 31 (Yonhap) -- Rumors of transfer of Hwang Ui-jo, South Korean professional football player and key forwarder of Girondins de Bordeaux of French professional soccer league, Ligue 1, have been reinitiated a day before the closing of the Premier League transfer window.

Fans are paying keen attention to the issue as Bordeaux has unveiled its final proposal for Hwang.

“The club (Bordeaux) has accepted Hwang’s final offer of 14 million euro (bonus included). Although the transfer club has not been confirmed, the player will leave the Navy and White,” tweeted Clement Carpentier, reporter of a French news media “20 minutes” on the 30th (France time).

The rumors of Hwang’s transfer stirred up with his signing a contract in July with “CAA Base,” a large agency including Son Heung-min of Tottenham and Hwang In-beom of Rubin Kazan. Also, his current club has put up 13 players including Hwang in transfer list due to its financial difficulties.

Hwang, who recorded the team’s most scores with 12 goals (3 assists) in 36 games for the 2020-21 Ligue 1 season, marked around 10 million euro of market value.

Bordeaux upgraded his value to 13~14 million euro for his outstanding performances of scoring 4 goals using head tricks during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Hwang’s candidates for transfer are Wolfsburg (Germany), Southampton (England) and Marseille (France).

The forwarder will join the South Korea national football team’s training assembly and will play in A match in September.
