SEOUL, Feb. 25 (Yonhap) -- The South Korean-American actor Steven Yeun, who initially rose to prominence for his role in the television series “Walking Dead” and mega-hit film “Minari,” has been confirmed to star in Marvel Studios’ upcoming film “Thunderbolts,” according to local media outlet Deadline Hollywood on Friday (local time).
Per Deadline, Steven Yeun will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is not yet clear who the actor will play in the film, which is expected to start shooting in June. However, Yeun will play “not only significant to this film but could also play a role going forward in future films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”
The Oscar-nominated actor will make his very first appearance in the star-dubbed “Thunderbolts,” along with the superstars Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, and David Harbour. Set to release in July 2024, “Thunderbolts,” which will be helmed by director Jake Schreier, will bring a close to Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which kicked off with “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.”
