Bong Joon-ho to release SF movie starring Robert Pattinson and Steven Yeun in 2024

SEOUL, December 7 (Yonhap) -- Director Bong Joon-ho who won four academy awards with his movie "Parasite" will release his new SF movie "Mickey 17" on March 29 of 2024. 

 

The film distribution company Warner Bros. released the first thriller of the movie through their twitter account on November 6 (local time), saying, "'Mickey 17' starring Robert Pattinson as the main character and produced by Bong Joon-ho director who received the academy award will be released for the cinema." 

 

Movie "Mickey 17" is adapted from the novel "Mickey 7," about a clone who opening an unknown planet, which was released in February of this year. 

 

Director Bong collaborated with Warner Bros, writing the script, planning and producing. 

 

Online news site Deadline, specializing in movies, said citing a source, "Mickey 17 is inspired by the novel, but given Bong's past screen adaptation experience, it may ultimately be a different version from the novel."

 

"Mickey 17" stars British star Pattinson, who played the main character in the new "Batman" film, and Steven Yeun, who was nominated for Academy Award for Best Actor at Oscars for "Minari."
