SEOUL, July 29 (Yonhap) -- Sejong National Arboretum announced on Friday that it will be holding the "Summer Flower Festival" from July 30 till August 28.
This festival, held under the theme of "Our Summer Story," features a variety of events including special exhibitions, cultural events, education/experience programs along with beautiful summer flowers.
Major programs include ▲ "Garden Embracing the Sea," a unique underwater landscape ▲ International Cactus Special Exhibition "Blossoming Cactus Garden" ▲ Citizen Participation Cultural Event, "Reflected in the Garden" ▲ Busking Concert ▲ Film Festival Enjoyed at the Arboretum in "Cinema Garden" and many more.
Particularly, the Sejong National Arboretum will be running "Our Flower Mugunghwa Week" from August 14 till August 28 to commemorate the national Liberation Day (August 15).
As much as this event was prepared to raise interest in our flower, Mugunghwa, there will be a re-opening of the exhibition center specializing in Mugunghwa, an event to share Mugunghwa, along with the opening of the 22nd National Flower Mugunghwa symposium.
"With this summer flower festival being promoted as one of the local project to revitalize the region, it will be very helpful in securing the competitiveness of local farmers," said Park Won-soon, head of the exhibition planning and department. "I hope it will be a time for people to feel the summer's freshness with the summer festival that locals have prepared."
