'Winter Flower Festival' to kick off on Dec 9 at 1004 Island Potted Plants Garden

SEOUL December 6 (Yonhap) -- Sinan county of South Jeolla province will kick off “Island winder flower festival” on December 9 until January 31 at 1004 Island Potted Plants Garden.

Camellia Sasanqua road located within the 1004 Island Potted Plants Garden which continues on for three kilometer withholds over 20 thousand Camellia Sasanquas are already bloomed with red flowers.

Up until January of 2023, over 40 million flowers of Camellia Sasanquas will greet the visitors.

Throughout the festival photo zones such as “Flower Wall,” “Flower Arch” and various different types of events will be held with underlying theme of Camellia Sasanqua.

Events such as walking on the path of Camellia Sasanqua with falling snow created using the artificial snow maker, writing a wish and tying a knot at the tree, writing a letter to my own self where it will be sent out in 2023, and more various events will take place throughout the festival.

Throughout the festival period Jeonyeok Noeul Art Museum located within the 1004 Island Potted Plants Garden will host exhibition of “fall pictures” and around the Little Zoo, souvenirs and food will be offered to visitors by the tourism associates of Sinan County.

Park Woo-ryang major of Sinan county addressed “Island Winter Flower Festival which has been going on for 10 years has managed to become the representative attraction of the county,” adding “I hope all the visitors will have fun seeing beautiful Camellia Sasanqua in snow and find peace and comfort and have a wonderful winter.”

1004 Island Potted Plants Garden which is located at the Songgonsan Mountain where visitors can see the amazing view of the Dado ocean, has “Garden,” “Bonsai Garden,” “Greenhouse” and more.

Over 700 of sculptures and bonsais are exhibited throughout the garden. Over 200 thousand visitors visit the site therefore it is considered one of the biggest tourist attraction of Sinan County.
