Nov. 7 (Yonhap) --
According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated ticketing network, the film ranked No. 1 at the local box office on both Friday and Saturday. It drew about 34,000 moviegoers on its Oct. 5 opening day (with a 24.0 percent sales share) and 24,000 the following day (24.8 percent share).
Directed by Dan Trachtenberg, “Prey: Death Ground” continues the franchise launched in 1987 with Arnold Schwarzenegger’s “Predator.” The latest installment shifts the perspective to the Predator itself, telling the story from the viewpoint of the iconic alien hunter that has long served as the antagonist in the series.

Japanese animated film “Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc” ranked third with 14,000 admissions, bringing its cumulative audience to about 2.86 million.
The Japanese thriller “Exit 8,” based on the game of the same name, came in fourth with 5,900 moviegoers, while the Hollywood remake of Jang Joon-hwan’s 2003 Korean cult classic “Save the Green Planet!”, titled “Bugonia,” ranked fifth with 5,800.
As of 9 a.m. Friday, the most reserved film was “Wicked: For Good,” which opens Oct. 19, with about 43,000 advance ticket holders. The film is a live-action adaptation of the hit musical “Wicked” and a sequel to last year’s first installment.
