SEOUL, Sept. 6 (Yonhap) -- Live Nation Korea announced on Tuesday that pop star of Generation Z "The Kid LAROI," who is from Australia and is well known in Korea for last year's global hit song "STAY," will hold his first concert in Korea at KBS Arena in Seoul on Oct. 6.
The Kid LAROI, born in New South Wales, Australia in 2003, grew up recording raps on her mother's cell phone and uploading it to Soundcloud, dreaming of becoming a singer.
He made himself known by forming a duo called "Dream$ Team" with rapper DJ Marcus Jr. in 2015, and released his first mini album in 2018. He participated in the Australian tour of the famous rapper Juice WRLD and went on stage together, improving his capabilities.
The Kid LAROI became well-known around the world with the song "Stay," a collaboration with pop star Justin Bieber in July of last year. Despite its short length 2 minutes and 21 seconds, the song topped the US Billboard's main single Hot 100 chart for 7 weeks with their appealing voices and a piercing beat.
"Stay" has been maintaining high ranks on Hot 100 chart for 59 weeks so far. The song's music video has garnered over 600 million views.
