Oldest maple tree in Naejangsan mountain dressed in colors of fall

SEOUL November 03 (Yonhap) -- Palmate Maple Tree which is around 290 years old located in Naejangsan Mountain in Jeongup city, within North Jeolla Province provides jaw dropping scenery to those who visit the site.


Palmate Maple Tree which has been selected as the 563rd national heritage on August of 2021is located underneath the hill 30m apart from the entrance to the Naejangsa Temple.

Height of the tree is 16.87m , the circumference of the tree is accounted as 1.13m, and the circumference of the tree at height of average person was 0.94m.

As of the width of the tree, it was acconted as 20.32m east and west, and for north side to the south part of the tree the tree was 18.10m. Out of all the Palmate Maple Trees located within Naejangan Mountain it is the biggest old tree.
