SEOUL, July 20 (Yonhap) --The Jeonbuk Family Film Festival Organizing Committee announced on Monday that it will be presenting 16 films, including the opening film, on the 5th Film Festival.

For the opening film, three films were selected, namely Director Kim In-hye's movie "Framily," "VANO," a movie for the youth, and the general movie "Mercy killing."

Among them, the main opening film, "Framily," depicts the conflict that arises in the process of preparing the ancestral rites along with the the main character's close friend who becomes a step-sister.

According to the organizing committee, director Kim directed the work with the concept of "someone's daughter-in-law is somebody's daughter, somebody's mother is somebody's mother-in-law."

"VANO" is about the conflict between sisters, and "Mercy killing" is about euthanasia.

From the day after the screening of the opening film, 13 films in the non-competitive change section, youth genre of the growth section, and general section will be screened one after another.

This Jeonbuk Family Film Festival will be held at Jeonju Cinema Town for three days from July 21.

"We prepared a film that allows us to reflect on the meaning of family from various perspectives, while also allowing one to communicate with each other," Kwak Hyo-min, executive director of the Film Festival said.
