SEOUL, November 28 (Yonhap) -- Lee Seung-gi and his agency Hook Entertainment's fight in regard to the "settlements of music royalties" is heating up.

The attorney for Lee Seung-gi claimed on Monday through a news release that "Lee Seung-gi has never received settlement details for his music royalty from Hook," and added, "Hook kept quiet about the music revenues being made by Lee Seung-gi's music on purpose, and settlements with specifications and evidences have not been fulfilled."

The attorney continued, "Hook started providing their sales statement starting in 2018, but it never included details related to music royalties," continuing, "It's such a shame that his agency has been gaslighting Lee Seung-gi, telling him that he is a 'minus singer.'"

Previously, Hook asserted on November 25, "the subject matter saying that Lee Seung-gi was never paid for his music usage fee is not true."

Hook insisted, "All of the settlements were cleared up last year after both parties examined the details and we wrote an agreement to confirm it."

In regard to this claim, Lee Seung-gi's side refuted it, saying, "The agreement was not made for the music usage fee between Lee Seung-gi and Hook."

Lee Seung-gi's side stated, "The agreement made in 2021 was about the real estate investment Lee Seung-gi made on Hook. Hook received an investment of 4.7 billion KRW from Lee Seung-gi to purchase a building in 2011, but Kwon Jin-young, CEO of Hook, did not keep a single promise she made regarding the investment."

The attorney claimed that when Lee Seung-gi informed Hook that he wanted to terminate the management contract, Hook stated that they would process the initial investment as a loan and that Lee Seung-gi would be required to write an agreement as part of the process of re-arranging his rights.

Lee Seung-gi's side argued, "If Hook had asked Lee Seung-gi to sign an agreement keeping this music usage settlement in mind back in 2021, this is considered a complete fraud," and continued, "All the problems were caused by Lee Seung-gi's lack of experience as he made his debut at a young age. It said, "We apologize for causing concern to many people regarding one's private issues."
