SEOUL January 15 (Yonhap) -- Taebaek city located within Gangwon province will be kicking off their famous “Taebaeksan Mountain Snow Festival” on January 27
Due to the wide spread of COVID 19 “Taebaek Mountain Snow Festival” was held off for the past 3 years from those who have been waiting to see the beauty of the snowed mountains of Taebaek.
Gigantic Snow Sculpture will be showcased at the Danggol Plaza throughout the festival.
Moreover, the festival will showcase snow built slide, ice sleighs, traditional tops and various classic games to provide visitors with classic winter fun.
On top of various activities the Taebaek Mountain Snow Festival” will offer visitors with Charcoaled barbecues, and more hot foods.
Hwangji pond park located within the center of the city will showcase starlight festival and cultural stages throughout the winter night.
Opening ceremony of the festival will take place at 4:50 p.m. on January 27 at the special stage located within Hwangji Pond Park and the festival will continue on until January 31, featuring various themed events.
“We have worked hard to come up with events and fun attractions that showcase various characteristics and merit of Taebaek, which is one of the representing cities within South Korea during the winter for its amazing scenery,” addressed official from the Taebaek Cultural Foundation on Thursday.
