SEOUL, Nov. 4 (Yonhap) -- Actor Lee Ji-hoon playing in the series “Sponsor” has been rumored to have made a number of staff including the writer get fired.

“It is not true that writer Park Kye-hyung and half of the staff were replaced because of actor Lee. We are sorry to hear such false assumption,” said IHQ, the producers of the series “Sponsor.”

Park Kye-hyung, the writer of the drama “Desire” (the original title of “Sponsor”) (translated) told YTN Star during an interview that half of the series’ staff including himself were fired as actor Lee took an issue with his not-enough portion in the production.

IHQ refuted against Park’s claim.

“The reason why we couldn’t go on with writer Park was because the producers’ adjustment requests were not properly accepted. He stopped writing for the series under consent,” explained the producers.

Earlier, rumors spread that Lee’s acquaintance had an argument with a staff at the shooting set and that Lee suddenly stripped his bottoms at the site.

Lee’s agency, Ssom Entertainment posted an official announcement regarding the matter on their Instagram page.

“It is true that there was a conflict between our actor’s acquaintance and a staff. The actor tried to apologize on the day but we are sorry to say that it didn’t work out well. The friend is deeply regretting his stirring up trouble at the site and is trying to contact the staff.”

But about the actor stripping his bottoms, the agency said, “It seems the writer meant the time when Lee had to quickly change his clothes (in a public space) as things went busy that day.”
