SEOUL, October 21 (Yonhap) -- Mnet's "Show Me the Money," which made a scene in the domestic hip-hop craze, will return for its eleventh season.

"Show Me the Money," which has been broadcast every year since 2012, is the longest-running hip-hop survival program in Korea that has produced high-quality performances and talented rappers every season.

In particular, this year, more than 30,000 applicants flocked to the open recruitment of rappers, which has been held for about a month since July 1, marking the highest number of applicants ever. Sleepy, a member of the hip-hop duo Untouchable, and Ddotty, a YouTuber with 2.36 million subscribers, posted support videos on their social media.

Choi Hyo-jin chief producer who was in charge of the planning of the show said at the press conference held virtually on October 21, "I think people are interested in the show because it properly captures the generation at the time," adding, "Show Me the Money" takes into consideration the current trends and concerns of various ages, not only rap and hip-hop culture."

Producer Lee Hyung-jin, who is in charge of directing, also said, "I know that "Show Me the Money" is the only survival program to have lasted for this long," adding, "This season, new applicants and new missions are prepared to show changes in the domestic hip-hop field."

He also said, "Considering the influence of 'Show Me the Money,' I feel a responsibility to contain the big culture of hip-hop."

Season 11 of "Show Me the Money" will not only show rap but will also show the hip-hop street culture, including DJing, graffiti, and b-boying.

Lilboy and Groovyroom, Park Jae-beom and Slom, The Quiett and Leellamarz,  JUSTHIS and R.Tee will team up as producers.

Producer Lee said, "There are many young friends who said they started rapping after watching 'Show Me the Money' during the interviews," adding, "I thought I should feel responsible as a production team as I watched them sincerely treat hip-hop and create their own world."

In season 11, Lee Young-ji, the final winner of "High School Rapper 3," is known to participate, drawing much attention.

CP Choi said, "Young-ji is already active in broadcasting, but she has a strong affection and will for hip-hop," adding, "Please watch Young-ji's capabilities of development as well as the other participants."

Jay Park, who participated as a producer, said, "It was good to meet rappers of different age ranges and learn what words are popular and what flows are popular these days. Thanks to the production team's cooperation with artists, which started 11 years ago, 'Show Me the Money' seems to have become like the Olympics. "

JUSTHIS said, "The contestant who reminded everyone of Woo Won-jae in Season 6 surprised everyone, and Don Malik, an unknown master recognized by the hip-hop scene, also joined the program."

The first episode will air at 11 p.m. on October 21.
