SEOUL, Feb. 25 (Yonhap) -- Four K-pop groups have put their names down in the “Top 10 Global Album Chart” released by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), which represents the interests of the recording industry worldwide.
Supergroup BTS’s anthology album “Proof” touched down in fourth place on the chart, according to data released by the IFPI Saturday.
Stray Kids’ “MAXIDENT” took sixth place, while Seventeen’s “Face The Sun” sat in seventh place, followed by BLACK PINK’s “Born Pink” in the eighth.
The American Latin pop rapper Bad Bunny topped the chart with his 4th solo studio album and overall 5th “Un Verano Sin Ti.” Taylor Swift chased after him with her “Midnights,” followed by Harry Style’s “Harry’s House” scoring third place.
Meanwhile, BTS was named second on the “Global Artist Chart” previously released on Thursday. Seventeen and Stray Kids also put their names down in sixth and seventh places, respectively.
The IFPI announced several global rankings every year, including the artist, album, and single of the year, by combining physical album sales sold worldwide with digital music downloads, as well as audio and video streaming figures.
