SEOUL, Feb. 2 (Yonhap) -- South Korean singer and actor Lee Seung-gi will donate a university development fund for the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) on Friday afternoon, the KAIST confirmed Thursday.
Lee Seung-gi will make a donation of about 300 million won during a development fund agreement ceremony that will be held in Seoul with the KAIST executives and others attending.
KAIST, which is deemed to be one of the most prestigious universities in South Korea, will use his donations for university development, including campus construction.
Lee Seung-gi made a grand donation of 550 million won to the Korean Red Cross on his birthday last month, alongside 2 billion won to the Seoul National University Children’s Hospital for the improvement of the pediatric medical environment in Dec. of last year.
The singer, actor, and television presenter has numerous hit songs and drama series, including “Vagabond,” “Mouse,” and “A Korean Odyssey.”
