SEOUL, Jan. 17 (Yonhap) - Noh Young-sim, Lee Moon sae, Lee Sora, Yoon Do-hyun, Lee Hana, Yoo Hee-yeol and Jay Park.

Rapper Jay Park is to host the first season of the new music talk show "The Seasons" which will continue the 30-year-long KBS late-night music talk show.

At a press conference for "The Seasons: Jay Park’s Drive" held at the KBS New Wing Hall in Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul on Tuesday, Jay Park said, "I think carefully about everything I do under my name. It's a great honor to be able to continue 30-year tradition."

The name of the program was directly conceived from the song name "DRIVE" released by Jay Park in 2016. The song conveys the message of "Let's leave together so that we can forget all our worries and concerns."

"I want this program to make people feel comfortable like listening to music while driving, and sharing private conversations,” explained Jay Park.

KBS, which has maintained its casting of host with calm style so far, is said to made an unexpected choice in many ways to choose Jay Park, who shows off his free-spirited charm.

In the first recording on the 11th, it is rumored that Jay Park has showed off his unconventional talking and hosting.

Producer Lee Chang-soo confessed, "At the time of the first recording, Jay Park did not follow the script at all, so I freaked out.”

At the same time, he said, "I thought it was a good thing that I casted him after it was over," adding, "He showed a slightly newer and more suitable style of MC for the times."

Another new change is that the program will be conducted on a seasonal basis.

"The Seasons" will showcase four seasons throughout the year, and different MCs will host each season under their own name. The MCs who will succeed Park Jae-beom have not been released yet.

Producer Lee pointed out the difference, saying, "If Noh Young-sim, Lee Sora, Yoon Do-hyun, and Yoo Hee-yeol focused on universality, this time they focused on individuality."

Until now, KBS' late-night music program has invited senior singers, singer-songwriters, rappers, indie musicians, and idols to stage a variety of stages.

Since most of the cast members perform live on stage, it has been considered the best opportunity for rookie artists who are confident in their singing skills to make their faces known.

“Yoo Hee-yeol's Sketchbook” alone has served as a gateway to new musicians for the past 13 years. Representatively, IU appeared in the 10th episode of "Yoo Hee-yeol's Sketchbook" and made her face known.

"I want Lim Young-woong to come out without 'Mr. Trot', Lee Young-ji to come out without 'High School Rapper' and 'Show Me the Money', and AKMU without 'KPOP STAR,' said producer Lee, adding, "I will try to make the program fresh and enjoyable. The program no one expects KBS to make.”
