SEOUL, Feb. 6 (Yonhap) -- The brand-new late-night music talk show of KBS “The Seasons - Jay Park’s Drive” has shown off its young and free spirit, headed by a new host Jay Park. The show kicked off with a viewing rate in the range of 1%.
“Jay Park’s Drive,” which had its first episode aired at 10:55 p.m. on Sunday, recorded a viewing rate of 1.5%, according to the rating research company Nielson Korea Monday.
“I never dreamed that I would be hosting a music talk show,” Jay Park said during its premiere. “I hope you would understand if the show seems quite unorganized as this is my first time hosting a show.”
He then heated up the stage by performing several of his hit songs, including “JOAH,” “GANADARA,” and “MOMMAE.”
Several smash-hit singers Yang Hee-eun, Crush, Lee Chan-hyuk, rapper Lee Young-ji, and group Baming Tiger appeared as guests and brought excitement to the first episode.
Jay Park showed off his charm and captivated the audience by leading the show in his own style. During Crush’s encore stage, he suddenly jumped on the stage and piggy-backed Crush, responded with a freestyle rap to Lee Young-ji’s impromptu rap, and also showed some of his breakdancing moves while sitting on his chair.
His original yet high-spirited musical and hosting skills grabbed the audience’s attention.
Jay Park is a rapper, singer, and songwriter, who made himself known as a former member of 2PM. He recently garnered attention by launching an alcoholic beverage brand, Won Spirits.
