SEOUL, Aug. 18 (Yonhap) -- ‘Son-sational’ Son Heung-min (29·Tottenham) has exceeded 5 million Instagram followers for the first among Korean sports stars.
“Thank you so much to all my followers. I can’t believe I am at 5 million. I’ll work hard and repay your support!” posted Son on his Instagram page Wednesday.
The star player’s number of Instagram followers, 5008,490 on Wednesday, is top rank out of Korea’s sports players.
‘Goddess of Volleyball’ (translated) Kim Yeon-koung has 1709,610 followers while ‘Goddess of Figure Skate’ (translated) Kim Yun-a has 676,997 followers.
In addition, An San, winner of 3 medals in 2020 Tokyo Olympics archery, has 583,308 followers.
