Yoon, Argentina president-elect agree to deepen bilateral cooperation

PARIS, Nov. 24 (Yonhap) -- South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol spoke by phone with Argentina's President-elect Javier Milei on Friday and agreed to deepen the two countries' cooperation based on liberal democratic values and the market economy system, Yoon's office said.
Yoon agreed to the call in Paris, where he is currently visiting to make a final push for South Korea's bid to host the 2030 World Expo in the southeastern port city of Busan.
He congratulated Milei on his election, saying he hopes to continue the two countries' friendly, cooperative relationship following the launch of Argentina's new administration on Dec. 10.
Milei thanked Yoon, saying he has admired South Korea's economic development and hopes to learn from it while developing their cooperative relationship, according to Yoon's office.
The two sides noted their countries' development of friendly and cooperative relations based on common values since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1962, and agreed to deepen the scope and depth of cooperation based on liberal democratic values and the market economy system.
