
'Comfort women' rally
Former lawmaker Youn Mee-hyang places flowers at an altar for Gil Won-ok and Lee Ok-seon, victims of Japan's sexual enslavement who died in 2025, as protestors hold a regular Wednesday rally near the Japanese Embassy in Seoul on Dec. 31, 2025, to call for Japan's apology and compensation for the victims of the Japanese army's sexual slavery during World War II, euphemistically called "comfort women."
