Funeral for film star Ahn Sung-ki

Culture, Sports and Tourism Minister Chae Hwi-young (R) pays his respects to the late film star Ahn Sung-ki, one of the country's most beloved actors, at his altar at Saint Mary's Hospital in Seoul on Jan. 5, 2026. Chae delivered the Geumgwan Order of Cultural Merit (shown on the altar), the highest grade of an order given to artists, to Ahn who died at age 74 the same day.
