SEOUL, Nov. 2 (Yonhap) -- Singer Shim Soo-bong, 71, apologized again and bowed her head over harsh criticism she made toward junior singer Kim Da-hyun, 17, at a local event.

According to her agency, SB Planning, Monday, Shim apologized during her national tour concert held Oct. 31 at Baekwoon Art Hall in Wonju, Gangwon Province, saying, "It was something I should never have said, stemming entirely from my own shortcomings and inadequacies."

She also said, "I have spent time reflecting and repenting, and I will continue to live with that attitude," once again humbling herself.

Shim sparked controversy in September when she publicly criticized Kim, who performed before her at a local trot festival, saying, "She seems like a young lady who doesn't know what singing is or what life is."

As criticism mounted over the inappropriate remarks, Shim officially apologized, saying she had "simply misspoken."

The Oct. 31 concert in Wonju was Shim's first official performance since the controversy over her remarks, and she publicly apologized again in front of the audience.

Addressing Kim, Shim said, "You must have had a very difficult time, but I hope you can gather yourself and grow into a great musician."

She also bowed her head once again, saying, "Above all, I will hold deep in my heart and cherish for a long time the great love of the audience and fans who came to the concert even in this situation."
