SEOUL, Nov. 4 (Yonhap) -- Actress Cha Ye-ryun has again denied allegations of school bullying raised online, calling them "false information" and announcing plans to take legal action.
Her agency, HB Entertainment, issued a statement Wednesday, saying it had previously clarified that claims circulating online about Cha's past were "groundless," but that unverified allegations and speculation posted anonymously continued to spread.
"We take the current situation very seriously, as criticism has even been directed at the actress's family members," the agency said.
It added that it would thoroughly collect evidence and conduct legal reviews before taking appropriate action against the malicious spread of false information and personal attacks.
The agency also vowed to take strong measures to prevent further damage caused by the spread of false claims.
Earlier, an online post alleging that an actress born in 1985 had been a perpetrator of school bullying gained traction. Although the post did not identify the actress by name, it included her birth year and former school, leading to Cha being identified as the person in question.
