SEOUL, June 24 (Yonhap) -- K-pop giant BTS has topped Japanese weekly Oricon chart with their latest album “Proof”.

By receiving more than 546 thousand Oricon points during this week, BTS’s new album “Proof” has safely landed on top of the weekly Oricon chart, announced Oricon on Friday.

“According to Oricon, 546 thousand Oricon points in a week are the most amount of points that any artist has ever gotten within this year.” announced Big Hit Music.

Septet K-pop superstar BTS managed to put total of 6 of their albums on top of weekly Oricon chart. Based on the total number of albums that topped the chart they are at jointed first place.

“Proof” is an anthology album which sums up their 9 years worth of group activities and memory.

Total of 514 thousand physical copies were sold leading the album “Proof” to take the first place in weekly Oricon chart and 2 consecutive weeks on Oricon weekly digital album chart.
