SEOUL, April. 13 (Yonhap) -- Lotte Department Store is targeting tourists during the golden holiday season in Southeast Asian countries.
Lotte Department Store has announced on Thursday that it will open a large pop-up store to attract tourists to Korea for the holidays such as Thailand's Songkran (13th-15th), Cambodia's Khmer New Year (14th-16th), and Indonesia's Lebaran (21st-26th).
Various characters popular overseas are prepared at the "Line Friends Lucky House" pop-up, which will be set up at Artrium Square on the first floor of Lotte World Mall in Jamsil from the 14th to the 23rd.
The four-leaf clover is used to decorate the entire design and welcome tourists with the green frog character "Lenini" at the front.
At the entrance of the store, a large 3.5m tall Lenini doll will be placed, and more than 1,000 popular character products will be presented.
The character "BT21" created with BTS and the character "TRUZ" created in collaboration with YG Entertainment's boy group TREASURE are also available on pop-ups.
According to Lotte Department Store, sales of foreign tourists at Jamsil branch increased more than five times year-on-year between January and March this year.
In particular, it has increased by 30% from 2019, before COVID-19, and Lotte Department Store analyzes that it is because there are landmarks such as Lotte World Tower near Jamsil branch, and the number of foreign tourists is increasing.
