SEOUL, Apr. 4 (Yonhap) – The Marvel’s anti-hero film “Morbius” topped the latest box office during the first weekend of its release.
According to the data from the Korean Film Council(KOFIC) on Apr. 4, “Morbius,” which attracted 204,000 people(58.1% of sales) for the past three days on the weekend(Apr. 1 to 3), ranked No. 1 on the box office. The film reached 312,000 cumulative viewers since its release on Mar. 30.
S. Korean novelist Cheon Myeong-kwan’s debut film “Hot Blooded” stepped down to the second place. It recorded 328,000 cumulative viewers, adding 5,100(14.3%) more audiences.
“In Our Prime” starring Choi Min-sik attracted 2,400(6.6%) viewers and ranked No. 3, drawing 512,000 cumulative viewers since its release on Mar. 9.
“Vanishing,” a new crime film in collaboration of Korea and France, "Madres paralelas," directed by Pedro Almodóvar, and the Japanese film "Signal The Movie Cold Case Investigation Unit," based on the Korean drama, entered the top 10 but the viewers remained its place in the range of 10,000 people.
