SEOUL, June 15 (Yonhap) --On their 9th anniversary, which should’ve been a cheerful dinner, became a place to open up their secrets they have not revealed before, and were tears rolling down the cheeks of the 7 members.

The boy group BTS, which formed a strong fandom base by communicating closely with fans, found fans first when delivering the difficult topic of “temporarily pausing team activities.”

In the Youtube video "real bangtan team dinner" (translated title), which was released late on the afternoon of June 14, members hesitantly started talking with various alcoholic beverages and snacks in front of them.

While avoiding specific comments, they stated that they will temporarily pause team activities, saying “when each of us have our own times,” “even though we won’t be working like we used to,” and “is an important time to move on to Chapter 2 of our lives.”

“We just want to continue as BTS for a long time. But to work consistently, I have to remain as myself. We were always sincere, and I hope you understand that feeling,” band leader RM said in the video.

RM mentioned “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” saying, “In the ‘multiverse’, there might be an ordinary employee named Kim Nam-joon (RM’s real name) who doesn’t make music.”

He emphasized, “I was lucky enough to meet producer Bang Si-hyuk, Big Hit Music, and such talented friends to make music as ‘BTS’,” adding, “A.R.M.Ys are their essence.”

As he continued to talk with a heavy expression with tears in his eyes, he said, “I feel guilty wanting to take a break. The lyrics of the new song ‘Yet To Come’ is the best version out of all other universes.”

As Suga bent his back and made a gesture like an old man, he said, “There were many joyful moments while doing this job, but there were also many painful moments. Would I be able to do BTS until I’m 100? It doesn't seem easy.”

Suga said, “I’ve been rapping since I am good at it, but now I want to change my genre.” He stated “In addition to vocal practices, I’ve been studying English, Japanese, guitar, keyboards, harmonic lesions, and dance practices at the same time.”

He also stated, “Why did we start this job? Why did we choose this job? Thinking about it, we all started this job to do what we want to do and be happy. I don’t know when our group will end, but I just want to be happy till that day comes.”

“I didn’t know when the day would come to talk about this, but I think that day was today. We will all spend time to ourselves and experience many things, and grow one step further,” said the youngest member Jung-kook.

He also said, “ I have no doubt that us 7 members will be a better version than now. I don’t expect you to understand, but I hope you do understand. I hope you don’t worry and support us.”

Hiding their regrets, the other members bantered and said, “Our Jung-kook has grown up.”

J-Hope, who will be the first among the members to start a solo career, emphasized that it is an important time for the team.

He asked fans for their understanding and said, “You have to break apart for a while to know how to get back together again. That is how BTS became stronger, so please don’t think negatively and think of it as a ‘healthy plan’.”

Jimin appreciated the A.R.M.Ys and said with deep emotions, “Everything was possible because of A.R.M.Y.s. How can we talk about anything without them?”

With tears in his eyes, he looked up to the ceiling and said, “It’s hard to talk about this,” and sighed.

When other members, such as Jung-kook and J-hope, shed tears, Suga comforted the other members, “It’s not that we’re disbanding, but we are just living apart for a while,” adding, “If we want to continue for a long time, we have no choice. Don’t cry.”

As members talked about “2nd era for BTS,” they contributed their last shot to A.R.M.Y.

“Everyone, you still have more to your lives. Let’s all cheer for each of us and all of us. ‘Ah-po bang-po!(abbreviated for A.R.M.Y forever BTS forever)’.”
